Many regular volunteers on farms and gardens are at higher risk of Covid-19 but we know that access to nature-based activities is essential for maintaining good mental and physical health and wellbeing. And our volunteers are invaluable for keeping our spaces going.
So how do we balance the risk?
When: Tuesday 18th August 2020, 14.00-15.00
Join Rachael Hemmings from AMC Gardens in Nottingham and Jane Bradshaw from Martineau Gardens in Birmingham as they share how they have welcomed back volunteers into their spaces.
The session will cover:
- Background of each of the gardens and how volunteers are involved "normally"
- The risk assessment process they followed to decide when to open up and which activities to restart
- Processes and practicies that have been introducted to keep staff and volunteers safe
- The human impact - how have individuals and groups reacted to changes?
- Barriers and challenges that are still faced
- Q&A
SF&G have created a Reopening Glossary which takes members through a list of areas to consider before reopening.
All webinars are recorded and available via our YouTube channel after the event has taken place.
