The Amelia Trust Farm was established in 1990 to help disadvantaged young people gain the skills, confidence and experience to help them move forward at a critical time in their lives - and this remains at the heart of our charity’s work. In addition, the Farm is a countryside sanctuary for all to enjoy and is a welcoming and accessible community.

It is a special place in different ways for a diverse community of people:
- an alternative school for 11-16 year olds who are struggling to cope in mainstream education
- a welcoming place for volunteers of all ages and abilities to work with animals, in our organic gardens or on maintenance projects around the Farm
- a quiet place for those coping with bereavement, illness or mental health issues such as veterans of the armed forces struggling with PTSD
- a fun place where everyone can learn about nature and enjoy the outdoors.

The GROW Programme
The GROW programme at the Farm offers a unique alternative education provision for disadvantaged teenagers. Many of our young people have emotional and behavioural difficulties and can often feel as though society has given up on them. By creating a positive and nurturing environment, we help young people develop the emotional and social skills they need to take control of their lives.

The GROW programme aims to increase motivation and self-worth so that our young people are more willing to engage with education and get their lives back on the right path. The programme provides a range of vocational and therapeutic activities led by experienced professionals, including tending to the animals, woodwork and helping around the Farm. We work with employers and educational settings so that when a young person reaches the end of the GROW programme, we can help them transition back into education, or into employment.

A Visitor Attraction like no other! The Farm is home to a variety of animals, from rabbits and ferrets, to pigs, alpacas and donkeys.

As well as our wonderful animals, we have lovely walks in our woodlands and special trails around the Farm for everyone to enjoy. We offer school and youth club visits, birthday parties and our Bunkhouse can host overnight stays for groups. Our Sports Hall is available to hire and we have conference facilities onsite. Corporate away days are perfect team building sessions, and they involve projects helping to maintain and tend to our Farm.
