The farm at Aghalane, Derrylin, Co Fermanagh is situated off the A509 road along the Woodford River which forms the Erne /Shannon waterway and acts as the Fermanagh (NI) / Cavan (ROI) border. The farm house is a traditional stone built, reed thatched, whitewashed cottage .Once a common style in Ulster, it is now one of approximately 100 that remain, of which very few are still used as family homes. The cottage is the centre of a square of traditional stone barns that have been refurbished.
The surrounding cottage gardens are filled with mature trees which have been planted by the family over the years .We feed wild birds to encourage breeding on the farms and have a host of visiting water birds to our pond, such as Kingfishers, Herons and Whopper swans.
The farm at Aughnacloy, Co.Tyrone is situated one mile along the Armagh road at Glencrew. The main house is a Georgian listed house
with traditional stone barns, linked by pathways to a small labourer’s cottage, known as “Pegs Cottage“.

Simon and Jennifer Bullock live on the farm at Aghalane, Derrylin, Co.Fermanagh with their 3 children. Simon is the fifth generation of the Bullock family to live and work on this farm. After attending Agricultural college, Simon has improved the farm while maintaining the natural environment and currently manages the beef herd on the Aghalane farm. Simon has experience in working with people with disabilities through the Riding for the Disabled, and Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland.

Jennifer was brought up on a farm and also loves the outdoor environment. As a senior Occupational Therapist, Jennifer has experience treating and working with people who have physical and learning disabilities and people with mental health issues. Also, Jennifer and Simon both have personnel experience of the joys and challenges of caring for loved ones with a disability.

In 2011 we welcomed people with learning disabilities into “Pegs Cottage” at Aughnacloy.

In 2014 our Fermanagh farm was chosen as one of the ten N.Ireland hosts for the Social Farming Across Borders (SOFAB) project. We continue to welcome people with learning disabilities each week. Annagh Social Farm has close links with Social Farming Ireland and the Social Farm Support Coordinator for N.Ireland.
