The purpose of Clydach Community Garden is to improve health & wellbeing through weekly facilitated gardening sessions. These sessions provide a welcoming atmosphere, deliver meaningful activities, where attendees can learn new skills, make new connections within their community and gain confidence. Environmentally friendly approaches, through recycling, planting and avoidance of using chemicals, will be a key aspect of knowledge sharing. Weekly sessions ensure continuity and aim to become a focus for isolated individuals who may otherwise have little routine or outside contact. People who attend are seeking community support - especially people who have mental or physical health issues. In the current Covid climate, our sessions have become even more important as we can, subject to the guidelines, continue to support our participants safely through sessions held outdoors or in our large, well ventilated polytunnel.
