The Museum, a department of St John Ambulance, has a small garden which until the outbreak of Covid-19 was cared for by volunteers with limited staff support. Over the past two years, we have consulted our local communities and deepened our partnership working with Islington Council to support the delivery of their Health and Wellbeing Strategy. As access to green space is especially limited in the borough, we are in the process of recruiting a part-time Community Gardener. It is hoped that this role will help to maximise the health and wellbeing benefits for our local community and provide opportunities to learn new skills whilst ensuring that the garden is well maintained.
