Growing Care Farming

Please note: Our GCF webpages are currently being updated, so please bear with us while we carry out changes - many thanks!

Social Farms & Gardens, in partnership with Thrive, is delivering the £1.4m Growing Care Farming project, part of the Government’s Children and Nature Programme (supported by Defra, funded by the Department of Education and managed by Natural England).

This exciting project will expand and transform care farming services across England through a programme of 4 key elements:

  1. Central support and resources
  2. Regional engagement
  3. Training
  4. Quality assurance

Growing Care Farming is a wonderful opportunity to transform the scale of the care farming sector across England, creating more opportunities for both children and adults with a defined need, to benefit from health, social and specialist educational care services delivered on care farms.

We are currently in the planning and development stage of the project and are busy behind the scenes, so please watch this space for further information, regular updates and details of how to get involved!

In the meantime, you can find more information here and if you’d like to get in touch please email:
