Social Farms & Gardens are pleased to be part of this exciting new initiative.
The Movement Strategy Process is an effort to bring together the work of diverse organisations, projects, organisers, and collaborative networks and alliances across food, farming, and land into a more coherent and strategic movement - to gather together our collective power and move as one body. The project is led by Christabel Buchanan at Shared Assets and Ali Taherzadeh in collaboration with Navigate Coop.
The Movement Strategy process is ambitious, dynamic and committed. It is not a single issue alliance, it is not a policy coalition, nor is it another network. We envisage this process as one that could shift the way we work, distribute resources, and think about strategy, both collectively and within our organisations.
The first big step in this process is a Movement Strategy Gathering in March 2026 which we have already secured funding for. Currently, we are working with 23 UK organisations working across food, farming, and land who will send representatives to the gathering.
As we organise towards a gathering in March, we invite you to this session so that we can share the ideas and ambitions of the collaboration and answer your questions. This webinar will give you information about movement ecology and the way we are organising, what we envisage as the potential and how you can be involved through your own work and organisations.
We are putting on one webinar on Tuesday 17th February 18:15 -19:30 - sign up here and another webinar on Thursday 19th February 12:45 - 14:00 - sign up here.
The webinars will cover the same content, you only need to attend one. Any questions email: [email protected].
