The purpose of the Partnership is to work with as many partners/organisations as possible to conserve and enhance the region’s biodiversity - taking into account both local and national priorities; plus also co-ordinate existing actions and initiate/co-ordinate new ones. Over the past 20 years we have overseen/run 70+ projects, many of them community-based; the current Biodiversity Action Plan runs until 2026 and we are monitoring nearly 600 actions. We work closely with the local authorities and set up species and habitat projects wherever there is a gap.
