Growing Communities is a social enterprise run by local people in Hackney, East London. The group are working to create a more sustainable food system through projects which provide practical alternatives to the damaging food system that currently exists. Through their organic box scheme, organic farmers' market and urban market gardens they aim to provide good food in a way that benefits both environment and community. Growing Communities' urban market gardens are located in Allens Gardens N16, Springfield Park E5 and Clissold N16. Allens Gardens is open on Mondays from 10 to 4; Springfield is open on Tuesdays from 10 to 4 and the first Sunday of each month from 10 to 3; Clissold is open on Mondays from 10 to 4. Visitors are welcome and there are signs around the gardens to explain what we grow and how we work. Allens Gardens has an eco building which is available for hire (call 0207 5027588).

Allens Gardens site is at the corner of Manor Road and Bethune Road. There is a metal gate into the park and we are 100 yards into the park through a door on the right.
Springfield Park site has an entrance next to the greenhouses at the top of the park, 100 yards to the North of Spark Cafe (the White Lodge).
Clissold Park site is located in the centre of Clissold park, between the bird enclosure and the goat enclosure.
