The Triangle Garden is a community garden within a local park where people of all ages and abilities can come together and take part in creative land-based activities, such as growing vegetables, tending plants, and making permanent garden features. Features in the garden include a wild area and pond, willow maze, spiral earth mound, shady glade, pollinators' garden, mosaic, orchard and forest garden. We run weekend activities open to all in the community, once a month, and a weekly Garden Club. We also hold family-friendly wildlife walks and community events throughout the year. Our Growing Ability Projects provide social and therapeutic horticulture sessions for adults with learning disabilities during the week. Volunteers are welcome at any of our activities.

How to reach Ransom’s Pavilion and the Triangle Community Garden:
By rail: nearest station is Hitchin (on a direct line from London Kings Cross, Cambridge
and Peterborough). The station is less than five minutes walk from Ransom’s Pavilion and
the Triangle Garden. Exit the station, cross Walsworth Road and turn right following the
pavement around to the left into Nightingale Road. Walk down past the Nightingale
pub and cross over opposite the Audi garage. Enter Ransom’s Rec through the park
gates and walk along an avenue until you see a low grey-roofed building on your left –
this is Ransom’s Pavilion. Workshops take place in the far wing. Across the Rec from the
Pavilion is the Triangle Garden – its willow entrance-arch should be clearly visible.
By bus: The following buses stop at Hitchin Station or nearby: 23, 54, 80, 82, 88, 92, 94, 97,
97A, 99, 700 and 870. Once alighted, follow the map above. It is less than five minutes
walk to Ransom’s pavilion and the Triangle Garden.
By car: From the A1M: get off at Junction 8 and follow signs for Hitchin. At the first
roundabout take fourth exit leaving the Three Moorhens pub on your left. Go down
Hitchin Hill and at the bottom fork right at the mini-roundabout past Carpet Right. At
traffic lights next to green slope on left, carry straight on. At next roundabout turn left into
Verulam Road. At next roundabout turn right into Nightingale Road. Turn left
immediately after Esso garage into small amenity carpark (3 hours stay max).
From the M1: get off at junction 10A and follow signs for Luton Airport initially and then
Hitchin on the A505 Luton ring road. Eight roundabouts later and you should be heading
out of Luton towards Hitchin on the A505. Once into Hitchin it’s straight on at the miniroundabout
and then left at the big roundabout past Netball England. Straight on at
the first lights and then right at the next roundabout into Fishponds Road (keep the
green and swim centre on your right). Straight on at the next three roundabouts and
you’re in Nightingale Road. Turn left after Esso garage into amenity carpark (3 hrs max weekdays).
