6 acre site offering volunteer opportunities for the local community. The project aims to bring a diverse mix of the community together, welcoming those with disabilities or from a disadvantaged background to work alongside others. There are communal growing areas, an orchard comprising of over 400 apple trees, half acre sensory garden, vineyard and wildlife pond.This project gives local resident groups a unique opportunity to work and support each other on horticultural activities as well as individuals. The concept of sharing skills and produce is at the heart of the scheme, with local groups and individuals working together to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants. Knowledge of horticulture, therapeutic benefits from growing produce and tending to the site, being active, social and mental benefits are just a few positive aspects seen from participants with physical or learning disabilities, living with dementia, feeling low mood, unemployed, retired and young to older ages.
