Based within a Victorian walled garden, most recently used as an alotment for a veg box scheme. Within The Walls Garden Project aims to support children’s and young people’s education and awareness about the world we all share. By teaching them to grow plants we empower them and enable them as they learn new skills, responsibility, accountability as well as inter-acting with other members of the community. We also want to value the skills of our older people, acknowledging their experience and in turn helping them to re-gain self-confidence in this fast-paced ever-changing world.
We are aiming to offer group sessions around planting and growing, environmental and ecological awareness. We would also like to offer skills workshops such as willow weaving, straw bale building, forest school skills and the like.
