Address: Waterville Road

We are a community hub in the heart of Riverside & Chirton wards of North Tyneside, operating alongside a large community building we have a 5.5 acre community garden. Over the years funding and strategy for the garden have been inconsistent and our plan now is to work more closely with local residents, volunteers and other partner organisations, such as Open Lab at Newcastle University and Capita, to develop a new forward thinking and sustainable strategy for the garden to provide a ecological and welcoming green space for local people to include growing and cooking areas, wellbeing areas, outdoor classroom and other outdoor spaces as determined by local people.

We currently use the space to support residents and volunteers to gain the benefits of being outdoors and connecting with nature, alongside more structured sessions with pupils who are at risk of, or have been excluded from school; adult day care clients and those suffering from Dementia.
