Waterloo Community Garden is on a farm in Great Oxendon, a village just outside Market Harborough. It started in autumn 2014, as a partnership between Sustainable Harborough (a Lottery funded project) and the landowners (Kirsty and Angus Clarke). The ground was cleared of nettles to create a growing space for the community, and it has since gone from strength to strength, holding gardening sessions, events and workshops for volunteers and the public. All volunteers get to share in the harvest and the surplus goes to the landowners. In November 2017, Waterloo Community Gardens was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), with Trustees, to ensure that it can continue to benefit the community beyond the end of Sustainable Harborough's funding in December 2017.
