Bonnymuir Green is a thriving, community-owned greenspace, which consists of a productive community garden, a social hub, and café. It is a place where the community is encouraged to meet, learn, and share in a space that is accessible to all. It delivers a blend of educational and social activities, encouraging good health, wellbeing, and sustainable living. It also provides valuable green space and biodiversity within the city of Aberdeen.

The community garden has an orchard, wildlife pond, wildflower area, flower beds, play area, soft fruit area, a polytunnel and raised beds, all accessible to people with disabilities. The garden provides a beautiful, biodiverse, and colourful space for our community to enjoy. We have a PYO scheme where anyone can pick fruit & veg and learn how it grows. We complete wildlife surveys and wildlife recording. We also have a healthy breeding population of frogs in the pond, and 2 beehives in our apiary. We have solar PV panels which generate approximately 40% of our electricity. We are working on improving the ventilation, insulation, and sustainability of our centre building to ensure it will reduce our carbon footprint and be able to serve the community for years to come.

Bonnymuir Green offers volunteering opportunities in hospitality and gardening which can build skills, increase community resilience, reduce social isolation, and create support networks. We welcome over 21,000 visitors and an incredible 6,000 hours of volunteer support each year!
