As part of a Parks for People project with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery, Houghton Hall Park in Houghton Regis has undergone large scale landscape restoration. Managed jointly by Central Bedfordshire Council and Houghton Regis Town Council, the park is a hugely valuable asset for the local community and features a brand new visitor centre as well as a restored kitchen garden and formal gardens. These provide important volunteering and engagement opportunities, and the produce grown in the kitchen garden is utilised between the cafe in the visitor centre and use by the community.
