We have a sub-group called the Barrmill Conservation Group. We were formed in 2010 in response to a community consultation where people wanted to see improvements in the appearance of the village and provision of more activities for local people to get involved in. We have been developing our community garden to address this. We currently run monthly workdays where people come along and get involved in the garden, we run ad hoc events such as nature walks; we have a grow your own project. Our aim is to create a calendar of activities and events based around the 4 themes of the garden: nature, horticulture, health and history. These are likely to include a weekly workday, open days, kids nature and gardening activities; gardening workshops, health walks. We aim to invite a variety of groups from the wider community to work on our project or just enjoy the garden.
