We are a community orchard project based on an allotment site in Smethwick. We planted 135 fruit trees early in 2018. We are now developing a herb garden and picnic area which we hope to be able to make fully accessible.We aim to bring together people from our ethnically and religiously diverse (and often very separate) communities to work and socialise together. We offer educational opportunities to local schools and community volunteering opportunities to schools, members of the faith communities or of no faith, and local people, including those directed towards us through social prescribing. Eventually we aim to reduce local food poverty, working through local food banks.
