We are a community led charity, managing two community centres within estates in Hackney, offering a community nursery and various projects, activities and classes that encourage happier, healthier communities.
We are in the process of redeveloping a piece of under-used land adjacent to one of our centres. This will include the creation of a community garden and living roofs, which we aim to maintain through volunteering and health and wellbeing programmes. The use of the space has been a result of community consultations over the past 2 years, one of the main priorities raised by local people was a need for a 'beautiful garden area for people to enjoy and socialise in'. In order to manage this sustainably, we will look to create green social enterprise that can support the garden's maintenance.
