RCG is a Community Garden located on the site of a dis-used bowling green. We are a space which offers opportunities for engagement by bringing local people together to learn, socialise, share skills & experiences, and improve their health and well-being. We are working towards a healthy, happy and cohesive community, by connecting with others and empowering them to reach their full potential. We are 60% run by committed passionate volunteers and have fantastic support from our community.
Our Society Objectives are:
• To provide inclusive facilities for recreation and leisure activities for individuals and community groups.
• To develop the capacity and skills of the service users, such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society.
• The prevention or relief of food poverty, through education, the production and sale of affordable produce.
• To promote social inclusion and communication.
• To promote sustainability.
• To advance the education of the public including the subjects of healthy eating, cultivation and sustainability.
• To advance the education of children.
