Newry Street Unite grew from the vision of a few parents who wanted to make a difference for their children. They wanted to put in place locally based services which would reach out and draw in children and young people and provide an encouraging safe space for them to have fun and new experiences or just to play the games they love. The group built up their own skills and linked into other support networks to source training, grants knowledge and skills.
Almost 10 years later the group have managed to secure a community building with a grant from the Big Lottery Space and Place Fund. They have some support for part-time staff and deliver the following:

• Multicultural learning and celebration events for children, young people and families

• Halloween and Christmas activities for children and families
• Weekly Drop in for adults
• Health and well-being activities
