We plan to help transform the commerial farming sector into a source of care farming placements for those with mental health difficulties. These placements will act as a step between volunteering on a care farm, and taking on mainstream work.

At Fallow, we will group a number of people with mental health challenges together (6 or fewer). We assign them one or two team leaders, who are experienced community workers, to manage and support them whilst they all carry out roles on a commercial farm. The farm then pays the whole team the market rate for the work carried out.
