Medway Adult Education have an allotment that is used for beginners gardening courses for adults and also for families. The outcomes include improving mental health through engagement with nature and reducing loneliness and isolation. The allotment is based at Fort Amherst, and we also seek to engage with community partners and schools to assist with urban growing spaces, green walls and edible trails. This includes work with partners in social housing and family support charities who work with residents who have no or very limited access to their own growing spaces.
