We are a Christian charity created to support children, young people and families from the local area who are facing challenging situations. In practice, this means families in social housing and struggling financially and often with mental health, domestic violence or substance abuse in their lives. We work with families of all faiths and none. In response to the pandemic, we created a FoodLife programme to provide fresh fruit and veg boxes to these families. As part of FoodLife, we installed a 1000m sq. market garden (in addition to a small community garden) and now have chickens to provide eggs for these boxes. We plan to get recipient families involved with growing, harvesting, cooking and preserving alongside our other volunteers. Part of our land is leased to local farmers for arable farming and sheep grazing.
