Our Poetree and the Word Birds project will deliver innovative creative literacy workshops inspired by nature and especially the theme of birds and trees to children and young people aged 5yrs - 18yrs. It will result in the creation of a sculptural Poetree in whose branches will be hung poems created by participants. Those taking part will also be inspired to create Word Bird books containing songs that will be 'housed' in the Poetree and storiesinspired by magical objects that are also hung in its branches. A Celebratory performance will take place showcasing the Poetree and the work created and it will inspire the audience to create their own Word Bird book and song and and hang a poem in the Poetree for others to enjoy.
