The Well Methodist Church, Darlington is a newly planted missional church dedicated to providing much-needed services for our local and wider community. We are based in a community of socio-economic need in Darlington, many of the challenges we face as a community is food poverty, fuel poverty, and mental health concerns. The Well provides services such as a community pantry, weekly free community lunch, a baby bank, and The Giving Garden. The Well also has a thrift shop and cafe on site aswell.

The Giving Garden is a purpose-built urban garden designed for growing produce, we have a polytunnel and eight raised beds currently. The aim of The Giving Garden is to provide an outdoor space for the community and groups to use where we can grow and share fresh produce. Fresh produce is used to prepare our weekly community lunch and offered free of charge to locals. We want to tackle food poverty in a practical manner and promote mental well-being for those visiting the garden.

The Giving Garden currently runs a weekly garden-based group Growing Well - Happiness Hub which runs each Thursday between the hours of 11am and 2pm. Growing Well - Happiness Hub offers free weekly sessions aiming to improve mental health and well-being through gardening. Sessions are suitable for all abilities and experiences.
