Community based group run by volunteers from the local village. Our aims are to improve the biodiversity by adopting village spaces, road verges etc. in order to conserve existing wild plants and introduce new ones. We have support of the Parish Council, Derbyshire Dales Biodiversity group, local schools and a team of local volunteers. We organise sowing, planting, maintenance events as well as public walks, exhibitions, talks , Face book and news items to involve and inform the public.
Since 2021 the group has permission to allow 6 small sites to grow uncut until the summer in the village. We spread local seeds, put up borders and signage, rake the cuttings to encourage biodiversity. Our mission is to; encourage biodiversity, involve local volunteers, inform and educate about wildflowers and related topics
