BetterBriggs Ltd. is a community group (recently registered as a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee) which has the simple, transformative aim of making our town (Bishopbriggs) better. In 2020 we received Scotland's Towns Partnership funding to create a pop-up community garden in a little-used town-centre car park. The project was such a success that we decided to apply for further funding to encourage local people to get involved in curating the garden and were successful in obtaining further funding from East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership to create a 'Feel-Good Gardening' project which aims to address social isolation and loneliness by encouraging people to come together and benefit from the improved health and wellbeing that social gardening can bring. We hope to move forward into community food-growing and food sharing and are already engaging with local schools in this regard.
