I operate a small animal-assisted wellbeing and alternative education provision for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Children attend for supervised therapeutic and educational sessions involving calm interaction with farm animals (goats, sheep, chickens and dogs), outdoor activities, and life-skills development. They do not undertake agricultural work or employment tasks.
All sessions are fully supervised by qualified staff, with appropriate safeguarding policies, risk assessments and supervision ratios in place. The animals are used purely for wellbeing and engagement purposes.
The provision is non-riding and non-commercial farming. Activities focus on emotional regulation, confidence building, routine, and connection with animals and nature.
I also run a CIC with future projects incorporating the farm for marginalized people, carers friends and families.
