Our Bangor (North Wales) based fruit tree nursery has been successfully reintroducing and growing rare heritage Welsh fruit trees for the last 40 years . After decades of searching, researching and trials, we have developed a collection of native Welsh fruit trees that will succeed in our unique location.
We cultivate varieties of apples, pears, plums and more, originating from across the country. All our varieties are unique (and often very rare), with a historical interest to the region.
Because of their Welsh heritage, our fruit trees are disease resistant in our climate (no need to spray), ripen well despite our cool and cloudy summers, and bear fruit that doesn’t blow off the trees during autumn gales.
It started in 1998 with our discovery of the Bardsey Island Apple, which led to a massive resurgence of interest in old, almost extinct Welsh varieties. These tough, disease resistant fruit trees are now being planted throughout Wales, the UK and Europe, and even as far as the US and New Zealand!
By cultivating these special fruit trees, we are continuing our aim of reviving interest in our Welsh horticultural heritage, and looking to preserve our native varieties for future generations.
