Cutteslowe Greenhouse is a community-led charitable organisation restoring a historic greenhouse site in Cutteslowe Park, Oxford, into an accessible community hub focused on food growing, nature connection, wellbeing, learning, and social inclusion.
Our beneficiaries include local residents of all ages and backgrounds, families, children and young people, older people, volunteers, people experiencing social isolation, low-income households, people with disabilities, individuals with mental health challenges, refugees and asylum seekers, and community groups. Through volunteering, community gardening, educational activities, food-growing projects, and shared community events, we aim to strengthen community wellbeing, reduce loneliness, improve access to healthy food, and increase engagement with nature.
Current activities include a community allotment, community orchard, volunteering programmes, educational workshops, seasonal events, holiday activities, wildlife conservation initiatives, and food-growing projects that supply fresh produce to the local community larder. The restored greenhouse site will provide a welcoming community space, café, training opportunities, and year-round programmes supporting environmental sustainability, health, and social connection.
Our core objectives are community development, food growing, education, volunteering, social inclusion, healthy living, wildlife conservation, sustainable development, community gardening, and strengthening local food resilience.
