The Laudato Si’ Garden Project in Aberystwyth is a local community ecology and food-growing initiative based in the presbytery grounds of the Church of the Welsh Martyrs in Penparcau, Aberystwyth. Inspired by Pope Francis’s 2015 encyclical Laudato Si'. The project blends environmental stewardship, social outreach, and community wellbeing.The Project has helped transform a parish green space into an ecological and community resource. By growing sustainable food for local food relief, nurturing biodiversity, and offering a peaceful sanctuary for mental health and community connection, the project puts ecological faith and practical social action into practice.
