Social Farms & Gardens has advocated for, and supported Community Orchards for many years. This support has been provided through substantial funded initiatives, concise informational leaflets and resources, or simply through friendly and professional guidance offered via email or down the phone.

This form is for you to register your site's interest in support for any of the above, tell us about your site and your plans so we can support you appropriately and to apply for finance, if you wish.
Funding your Community Orchard (Powys)
Social Farms and Gardens (SF&G) can offer around £200 per Powys community orchard. Where clear need and benefit are demonstrated this amount could increase, or we may signpost you to support elsewhere. To apply you must be a Community Orchard in Powys, with more than 5 fruit trees in the same area, which a Powys community can access.
*Please note, this £200 funding is additional to the Social Farms & Gardens Apple Juicing Days funding that was previously available - you are welcome to apply again for this opportunity.

If successful, you will need to sign an acceptance letter and provide evidence after the funds have been spent (photos/videos, report or feedback form completed).

Our 'Community Orchards Forum' is a space for positive information sharing and overcoming challenges. The forum meets quarterly.
Whether you are involved in a Local Authority, Housing Association, Town & Community Council or a local community group, everyone is welcome.

Current Projects
Social Farms and Gardens (SF&G) have funding to support Community Orchards in Powys until February 2026, helping you to become more knowledgeable, connected and resilient. We can support you to manage and develop new and existing orchards, run orchard events and increase community involvement. In turn, this will bring associated health, wellbeing and nature benefits, increased local knowledge and a sense of pride-of-place to your community. We can also work with you to identify future opportunities, barriers and support needs, for which we aim to seek funds for future support.
Over the coming months, we’ll be organising a series of events, sharing resources, offering support and small grants for community-led Orchards in Powys. Watch this space or email [email protected]
