Jeremy became Director of the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens in October 2000, and has overseen a period of expansion and increasing recognition of the benefits of the city farm and community garden movement. He has contributed to many advisory groups including the Urban Green Space task force, Allotments Regeneration Initiative and the Community Sector Coalition. He is the Chair of Local Food - £50m Award Partner with the Big Lottery Fund.

Ian has been involved with community farms and gardens since 1986. One of his many roles has been to bring together agricultural organisations to encourage children to experience farming and food production under the Access To Farms partnership. With DCSF he helped establish the Growing Schools programme about hands-on learning, from which the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto has emerged, and the development of the School Farms Network. With the National Care Farming Initiative he is developing opportunities for health, probation, police and education to make use of farming and gardening environments for proven therapeutic, social and economic benefits.

Caitlyn joined FCFCG in 2008 and is now a support worker, with particular emphasis on our Local Food Project and membership queries.

In addition to editing the Members newsletter Growing Places and producing various other publications, Diane is responsible for FCFCG’s image archive and updating the information resource centre on the Federation’s website. Diane, who has worked at FCFCG for a decade, also produces publications for the Allotments Regeneration Initiative as well as administering the ARI website.

Ken deals with Press, PR and marketing for FCFCG and its various partnerships and also produces several publications including the Annual Review. Ken is responsible for the organisation’s website and produces a regular e-newsletter for members. As well as liaising with corporate partners, Ken also deals with media and broadcast enquiries.

Jon looks after all financial matters, including budgetary control, banking and investments, grant claims and end of year audit, plus compliance with SORP regulations. Jon’s remit also takes in payroll and pensions. He has been with the Federation since 2000.

A professional gardener with 20 years experience of working in public, private and community gardens all over London, Catherine began working for the Federation in 2002. She supports the work of numerous community gardens and the capital's 17 city farms, as well as other groups and projects in the South East area. Whatever the size and scope of the group, Catherine is constantly inspired by the work of dedicated and resourceful staff and volunteers.

Heidi has 15 years of experience of working with environmental charities and community groups who undertake recycling, reuse and composting activities. She joined FCFCG in May 2009, and works to support projects in the Midlands through strategic and practical help. She encourages members to network and share good practice and also represents their interests to other external bodies and partners who want to work with them.

Helen has more than six years' practical experience of working on community farms, first in London running education, training and play activities and then in Edinburgh as a fundraiser and Community Garden Project manager. She set up the Scotland office at Gorgie City Farm, before taking a sabbatical in 2007 to sail round the world. She returned to work in June 2009, co-ordinating the work of the Fed in Scotland and rejoining the BLF funded Growing Communities in Scotland partnership between FCFCG, ARI and Trellis.

Carmel is the first personal contact most people have with ARI and she is involved in co-ordinating ARI’s Mentors, building up a strong working relationship with them. Carmel has been with the ARI project since September 2005 and has developed a broad knowledge of allotment regeneration issues. She is particularly skilled at encouraging less confident users to take their first steps in allotment regeneration.

Keeley took on her role in the 'Growing with Schools' Partnership in May 2009, working with John Hirons in Coventry. With a background as an English teacher and self-sufficiency 'anorak', a mission to get every school in the city (and then, the world!) growing their own fruit and vegetables was too much to resist.
