More details: Care farming is the therapeutic use of farming practices – where service users regularly attend the care farm as part of a structured health or social care, rehabilitation or specialist educational programme. The powerful mix of being in nature, being part of a group and taking part in meaningful farming-related activities is what makes care farming so successful.

This course is designed for those interested in setting up a care farm - it will give you an introduction into care farming, what you might need to consider when setting up, and some guidance on how to get into care farming.

This course is delivered by our parters Thrive, and follows on from our free Principles of Care Farming resource

On this course, you will:

-       Be introduced to care farming and how it fits within nature-based interventions

-       Know what factors to consider when setting up a care farming site

-       Have a basic knowledge of the needs of service users accessing a care farm

-       Have a basic knowledge of the ‘Care Farming Code of Practice’ - now the Green Care Quality Mark
