We offer enrichment activities and provide funding for children and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities in the North East of England. We run Cafe Beam which provides young people with a work placement where they can learn skills and gain confidence to enable them to find a paid or voluntary work. We have a nearby allotment space which the young people work on to grow fruit and vegetables which can be used in the cafe. We hope to develop this allotment, for example installing a shed, keeping bees and recruiting more local volunteers and family members to join in the project.
