I am the Woodland Heritage Officer for RWCE and my role is to organize traditional woodland management, guided walks, and green wood craft workshops to get people out in nature through Green Social Subscribing. The funding for my project as the Woodland Heritage Officer has come from the Farming in Protected Landscapes Project through The North York Moors National Park and the HEY Smile Foundation.

The woodland is a 222Ha site and National Nature Reserve including Raincliffe Woods and Forge Valley near Scarborough and we are the largest Community Managed Woodland in England. All the work we do in the woodland is to preserve our ancient woodland, increase biodiversity, and incorporate the local community in traditional practices and crafts.
