Low Carbon Louth (LCL) is a Community Interest Organisation set up to help address global warming by reducing carbon emissions locally. LCL aims to do this by promoting the organic growing of food plants, running a community composting scheme to recycle uncooked food waste and promote cycling as a sustainable form of transport. LCL currently manages several garden areas with public access, and a composting scheme making weekly collections of waste food from a number of households in one locality to process at a nearby composting site. To promote cycling locally, LCL also works to repair, rebuild and maintain bicycles, including bicycles which might otherwise be scrapped.
