The society was formed in 2000 to fight the sale of the allotment site by the local council at this time we joined ARI who gave us lots of advice to help us with the battle. Finally we got agreement to keep 40% of the site and the other 40% would be sold off for redevelopment. After many years in limbo, in 2017 part of the site was sold and we have since then been working on regenerating the site. We have approx. 100 plots and about 80+% occupancy.
Part of the regeneration has been to make the site more secure, a new water pipeline system was put in and we have built a compost loo. A lot of the site is unusable due to the the size and shape of the plot and the dereliction that has happened over the years.
We are looking to set up a community orchard on part of the land and are starting to look at the biodiversity we have on site and see what would be the most profitable use for the unused land that can not be used for growing.
The last project we undertook was a moth count which was very successful. We are also logging wild life and birds on the site.

Facilities: Wildlife area, Sustainable/Green building on site
