Transition Sunderland is a newly formed group covering the Sunderland area. The group's objectives are to highlight the need for local action on climate change, peak oil, community resilience and biodiversity loss.
Hendon Natural Community Garden is the group's first project. Based in Corporation Road allotments, it is hoped that we can inspire the local community to view their allotments in a different light. It is an orchard, wildlife garden, food growing area, composting site and community garden rolled into one.
