We work with formerly homeless people who are referred to as companions and through community living, work and solidarity aim to help people have positive outcomes. Our social enterprises include traditional charity retail, workshop activities and gardening services. Our community is home to 15 individuals male and female in South Shields, Tyne and Wear.

Emmaus is a global movement with 29 communities in the UK and a presence in 36 countries having been started in France after the 2nd World War.
