Sustainable Merton is an environmental charity inspiring local people to live a more sustainable lifestyle; living in the present in a way that doesn't compromise the future of our planet. With help from our Community Champions - local volunteers giving their time to champion sustainability - we are on a mission to improve our environment through addressing issues around Waste, Air Quality, Energy and Food.

As part of this work, Sustainable Merton manages Mitcham Community Orchard. This space is user-led and open to all the community, providing much needed access to green space for local residents in a high density urban area. The Orchard gives local people a chance to get involved in gardening, growing food and learning about nature and sustainable gardening. It also provides the opportunity for people to benefit from improved well-being by participating in gardening activities.
