Hay Public Library.org was set-up initially to save Hay Library from closure. That achieved, it was tasked by Powys CC to develop new Library Services to engage the community in a Resilience Initiative by facilitating Community Assemblies to initiate Climate Action.

The Hay Community Resilience Initiative (HayResilience.org) is a Community Engagement program launching Community Assemblies (run by Hay Public Library CIC in collaboration with Hay Library) to address Climate Action within our Community and launch initiatives so that the Community can organise itself to become self-sufficient in locally and regeneratively grown Food (Hay CSA); self-sufficient in Community Owned renewable Energy (Hay Energy), and to set up preventative measures to address mental health deterioration as the consequences of Climate change and to reduce pressure and dependence on the NHS resources (Hay Wellness).
