We saved the garden from retail developers who wanted to rip it up and build a supermarket. Now we are creating a community garden to be proud of. Since 2018 when the site was overgrown and unused it has since been designated an asset of community value, and as such is managed by the local community under license from Wigan Council, under a scheme known as The Deal.
